Diabetes Care & Prevention: A Revolutionary New Approach
Hello and welcome to this new blog. My mission is for you to “Eat and Enjoy to Control Your Blood Sugar.” I want to inspire you and show you how to avoid getting diabetes (even if you have a family history of it), and how to reverse it if you have already been diagnosed with this condition. I also want to generate a revolutionary zeal among people to have a far healthier approach to food that will begin to reverse the spread of Type 2 diabetes now sweeping around the globe. It is obvious that the combined efforts of medical communities, pharmaceutical companies and government institutions are not able to do it.
Diabetes is a condition in which you develop high blood sugar. While it may sound like “not a big deal” as its consequences are “a long way off” if you are in your 30s, 40s, or even 50s, diabetes is not to be taken lightly. It can severely affect many systems in your body, from your eyesight to your kidneys to your nerves. Unfortunately, many people think, “All right, I can live with diabetes, I’ll just take a pill,” or, if your blood sugar is very high, you might think, “I’ll just give myself insulin injections like my doctor tells me to do.”
This is a slippery slope—and I want to tell you that it is not how you have to live. Today’s medical profession has a propensity to treat illnesses and conditions with medications—and the pharmaceutical industry seems to have no problem considering all diseases as conditions for which they can sell you drugs. As an MD, I am not averse to medications, but they should be used as sparingly as possible, and only when absolutely necessary. As it turns out, diabetes is not as complicated a disease as it is made out to be, and its treatment is far more effective by teaching people how to avoid developing high blood sugar or how to reverse it without medications once it happens.
What I am most concerned about regarding diabetes is that patients are taught to believe that they have developed “insulin resistance.” The details of this happening are seldom fully explained and few patients ask their doctor to give them the details about it. Even doctors themselves are unquestioning about how insulin resistance occurs, what mechanism within cells causes the insulin resistance, and whether or not they can help their patients make this resistance go away. It is accepted that once a person develops high blood sugar, they are locked into taking medication for the rest of their life because insulin resistance persists.
Thirty years ago, I began studying, the natural mechanisms of hunger, eating, and the body’s use and storage of nutrients. My desire to understand these issues led me to look closely at diabetes and the theory of insulin resistance. While I am not an endocrinologist, I am an MD with knowledge of biology, chemistry, and medical science. What I discovered about the cause of diabetes is that it is not insulin resistance.
This blog is dedicated to a whole new science-based explanation about the cause, prevention and reversal of diabetes. As you will see, diabetes has a very clear explanation and preventing or reversing it is entirely possible. My conclusions are grounded in solid principles of biology, physiology, and chemistry.
This revolutionary approach of diabetes is good news for you. Whether if you are concerned about getting diabetes because “it’s in your family” or your doctor has told you that you are “prediabetic” with high blood sugar, or if you already have diabetes, you will learn why and how you can prevent and even reverse diabetes in a completely natural way.
So I invite you to sign up for my blog and keep coming back to my website. Each week, I will explain new ideas about the cause of diabetes and its prevention and treatment. These are completely revolutionary ideas from what you will find anywhere else. I do not ask you to buy any special food products nor follow any special diet. What I will be sharing with you is my concept about diabetes—and that understanding, I am sure, can help you to care and prevent diabetes without needing pills or insulin injections for the rest of your life.
If you are overweight or concerned about getting diabetes, Eat, Chew, Live provides exactly the new science & inspiration you need.
Based on more than twenty years of research, Eat, Chew, Live offers a revolutionary new explanation of high blood sugar and Type 2 diabetes. While traditional medicine says it is due to “insulin resistance,” Dr. Poothullil disagrees. Eat, Chew, Live will show you:
- How the consumption of grains causes your body to develop high blood sugar
- How you can lower your blood sugar to avoid or reverse Type 2 diabetes without using drugs.
- How you can change your eating habits to avoid grains while still enjoying every meal
